Welcome, culinary explorers! Today, we’re going to shake up your dessert routine with something a little different. Get ready to try our delightful Apple Pie Tacos! Don’t worry about the frying part; it’s more straightforward than you think, and I’m going to guide you through it.

This sweet twist on the traditional taco merges the richness of apple pie with the convenience and fun of a taco. Each bite sends a burst of heartwarming flavors that will transport you to the cozy kitchens of your childhood. It’s a comforting dessert, and trust me, one you need to try.

Ingredients:

  • Three sizable flour tortillas
  • Vegetable oil, for frying
  • 1/2 cup of cinnamon sugar (Imagine the sweet-spicy aroma!)
  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • Four apples (peeled, cored, and chopped)
  • 1/4 cup of granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup of lightly packed brown sugar
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • One teaspoon of ground cinnamon
  • A pinch of kosher salt
  • Vanilla Ice Cream covered in milk chocolate, for serving (We recommend Magnum Milk Chocolate Vanilla Ice Cream!)

Instructions:

  • Get Organized:
  • Start by prepping your kitchen space. Spread the cinnamon sugar in a flat bowl and keep it next to an upside-down muffin tin. Trust me; an organized workstation goes a long way in ensuring smooth cooking.
  • Craft Your Shells:
  • Take a 3-4″ cookie cutter and cut smaller circles from the tortillas. In a large skillet over medium heat, heat about an inch of oil until it shimmers. Place one tortilla in the skillet at a time and let it sizzle for about 30 seconds. Flip it over using your tongs and gently fold it into a taco shape. Cook each side until golden for about two minutes, holding the shell with your tongs.
  • The Sweet Crust:
  • Immediately after frying, toss your golden shell in the cinnamon sugar bowl and nestle it into the inverted muffin tin cups. The sugar coating not only makes your taco shells extra sweet but also adds a satisfying crunch that contrasts beautifully with the soft apple filling.
  • Apple Filling:
  • Now, the highlight of our recipe – the apple filling. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped apples, both sugars, the fresh lemon juice, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt. Stir occasionally and cook until the apples soften, and the mixture turns jammy. This takes around ten minutes. Let it cool down a bit. This flavorful, buttery, apple-cinnamon filling is the soul of our dessert taco!
  • Assemble and Serve:
  • Spoon the cooled apple filling into each sugar-coated shell. Top it off with a scoop of velvety Magnum Milk Chocolate Vanilla Ice Cream. The cold, creamy ice cream, melding with the warm, sweet apple filling, creates a symphony of flavors that is, quite frankly, out of this world.

Serve these exquisite Apple Pie Tacos immediately, and watch the faces of your guests light up with delight. This innovative dessert isn’t just a treat to your taste buds but also a fun conversation starter at your next dinner party.
