Ingredients
  

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • ½ teaspoon salt for seasoning the chicken
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper for seasoning the chicken
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ½ cup sour cream
  • ¾ cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup shredded mozzarella cheese optional
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley optional garnish

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Grease a 9 inch by 13 inch baking dish.
  • Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels.
  • If the chicken breasts are thick, pound them to an even thickness or slice them in half lengthwise.
  • Place the chicken in the prepared baking dish.
  • Season both sides of the chicken with salt and black pepper.
  • In a medium bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, sour cream, parmesan cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
  • Spread the creamy parmesan mixture evenly over the top of each chicken breast.
  • Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top, if using.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the chicken reaches 165°F.
  • For a golden top, broil for 1-2 minutes at the end, watching closely.
  • Remove from the oven and let the chicken rest for 5 minutes.
  • Garnish with parsley and serve warm.

Notes

Pound the chicken to an even thickness so it cooks evenly.
Use a meat thermometer to avoid overbaking the chicken.
Greek yogurt can be used instead of sour cream.
Add panko breadcrumbs on top for a crunchy finish.
Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
